Rugged Wide‑Toe Boots™

My goodness, where to start. Bear with me, this is long but well worth the read. I guess let me start by saying that these boots have legitimately changed my life. Being born with cerebral palsy, it brings its plethora of challenges and obstacles, finding worthy and beneficial footwear being at the top of that list. Being in my mid thirties, I’ve gone through a lot of shoes and boots. I have had all sorts of heel lifts, arch supports, custom orthotics, braces of many different kinds. All this to try and improve my posture, gate, balance, etc. Nothing I tried truly helped. My back always hurt, my calves were always cramping due to the lack of muscle mass and strength and working extra to walk because the footwear had was causing so many problems. Years went by doing the same thing, trying to things all these specialists were suggesting, yet nothing worked. About 4 years ago, I finally had enough and tried something new, that had not yet been suggested. Barefoot shoes. Doing a deep dive into the pros and cons of this style of footwear, I started to find a new hope in the possibility of reduced pain. After My first purchase, I very quickly learned that this was a promising option for me. I’ve worn barefoot shoes ever since. The one issue I still faced was finding a pair of boots, western boots at that, that would also provide the same benefits as the shoes. I hadn’t had much luck. I found one company that makes a barefoot jungle boot but didn’t make that jump to purchase. After searching and searching, the algorithm managed to introduce me to Texarado and I was immediately hooked. Especially seeing that the Decatur was soon to be released! It took me a few tries to land a pair of these as they sold out extremely fast but I finally got mine. I’ve had them for a couple weeks and here’s my review. Thank you for bearing with me thus far. The quality of these boots are absolutely outstanding. The materials are premium without a doubt. These boots are thick and I mean THICK! they are not flimsy cheap junk. The craftsmanship of these boots are top tier. They aren’t you’re typical western boot, no. They certainly have their unique style but that’s what makes them standout. Now a word to the initial fit. Everyone’s feet are different and you likely will not know how these will fit until you get your hands on a pair. For me personally I like to have my footwear hug my feet, to be tight and close to my foot but not constricted. These have just enough room for my feet to move where they need to but also feel secure. Getting them on and off, again for my personal experience, has been challenging. For my feet, the instep is super tight and I was worried that I may not even be able to get my foot in let alone out when trying to get them off. After an honest attempt, my foot finally slipped in and I was extremely excited. They felt and feel incredible. In time these will stretch and it will become easier to put them on and take them off. That being said, I’ve worn these almost every day for the last 2 weeks and I have not had an increase in my back pain once. They are work horses for sure. They will stick up to anything you throw at them. I can not recommend these boots and this company enough, the customer service is outstanding, I’ve had two wonderful person to person phone conversations with them about questions and they are patient and willing to make sure everything is exactly right for you. Again, I 100% recommend this company and this product. They are a complete life changer for me and I believe they will be for you as well.

I am a women's size 8.5-9 and got a size 8 and they fit perfect with some extra toe room, which is what I wanted. I've been looking everywhere for WIDE western boots and I am glad someone has finally created them. The customer service is amazing! Please come out with a steel toe option so that I can wear them to work

Now I'm gonna warn ya, another review mentioned that first time tightness trying to get these puppies on, he wasn't joking. I would 100% get a boot horn. After I fought em on though, my goodness like a glove! The break in process is definitely gonna be a doozy, they weren't joking with how thick the leather is. 10/10 worth the hassle UPS caused.

This is the boot I have wanted for 15 years. So far so good. They are breaking in nicely. First boots I have had in 12 years of carpentry that are not a compromise. Time will tell if the price tag is justified.

very good. completely worth it. best boot ive owned. break in takes some time but once u get em broke in they are very nice. i would recommend wearing them for an hour or so a couple days in a row before u try taking them for the long haul. you can tell the quality is very good. mine still smell like new leather after a couple weeks of use. maybe ill start sleeping in em if love em that much.

I was looking for western boots that are barefoot, then I found Texarado which has Texas in it where I am from and live. My dad and I run a pine straw and honey farm business on 170 acres of land just outside of Jacksonville NC. My dad wants to get good working western works for our business then my agreed that the Decatur boots would look good on me, plus they’re good for your unlike other western work boots that aren’t actually shaped like an anatomical human foot, but also deform your feet overtime which is not good. However, the boots are taking a bit of time to fully break in, but it’s worth it as these boots are high quality, but once there fully broken in, I’ll be good to go working on the pine straw and honey farm located just outside of Jacksonville NC.

One side note I want to make is that the pine straw and honey farm business that my dad and I run is called Franklin’s Farm. Franklin’s Farm is named after my dad side grandfather. The reason why my dad decided to start a business on the 170 acres of land is that my dad side grandfather Franklin passed away on December 18th 2021. To honor my dad side grandfather, my dad decided to inherit the land that has been owned by our family for a few generations before when he was born and start a business to carry on the legacy that my grandfather had which is doing hard physical work and I want to do the same thing too to make my grandfather proud.

Have only worn them a few times but so far I love them. I have high arches and require custom inserts and these have room for them. Great customer service, I reached out before I ordered to make sure my inserts would fit and got a quick reply.

When I first tried on the Texarado socks, they are top notch comfort and my toes have room to spread how they are meant to.

They are great! I have two Bailey's in ten so I ordered the Decatur in tens also. My foot is a 4E and I have a high instep. Upon attempting to put them on, I didnt think it was going to happen because my instep was so high they wouldnt go on. I used the pull loops and put my back into it and got them on with a little pain as they went on. I was worried there for a minute because I really wanted them to work. I laid back in the bed with the boots on because I didnt want to walk in them if they were not going to work. After a few minutes the tightnes started to get better. My instep did'nt hurt or feel unconfortable. The width and length was perfect. I started to walk around the house and the instep felt better and better. I have only worn them out twice, and they are really stiff at first, but it is only because they use great leather which will probably last a lifetime if taken care of. The boots feel like a leather glove on my feet. Even though they are stiff they are really comfortable to walk in, which only tells me that once I really break them in, they will be even more comfortable. The quality is really great. I hope they make a Decatur in black, and if they did them in the bison leather would be an incredible boot. I love my Bailey's and my Decatur's, they are great quality and the price is fair! Honestly, it is a fantastic and high quality boot. The leather is THICK and STIFF. The break in period is long and slow but it is not painful at all. I wear a 10.5 in Vans shoes but always buy my boots in a size 10. I bought these in a size 10 and I am pleased with the fit. At first I almost wished that I went with a 9.5 due to some heal slip, and them stretching some by wearing them regularly, BUT as I wore them more and more my foot has now “locked in” and there is no more heal slip. The toe box on the inside is roomy but not too roomy. I will admit that I am still NOT used to the look of the wide toe box and the flat look of the toe area. It is weird looking down at your foot and seeing such a wide toe box. It looks weird to me, but it doesn’t look weird to anyone else. I have asked my wife and my buddies and get nothing but compliments on how the boots look.

These are great boots and feel even better! They look different but they feel great on your feet and have plenty room for your toes to splay. Definitely recommend them!

Great boots. Sizing was perfect. Will take a little time to break in, but that is expected from good boots with good quality leather. Thanks for making these, this zero drop boot is what I have been needing.

I purchased mine and the customer service was top notch. I live almost at the Canadian border so I do think I will have them resoled to they handle the mud and snow a little better. If I was in an area where I dealt with less mud and snow I wouldn't change a thing. Overall GREAT bots, finally someone built a wide toe zero drop boot, thank you!

I have worn barefoot and zero drop footwear for the last 15 years. Always looking for true work boots, but never able to find a zero drop wide toed pull on. Love my Nicks striders, but they are lace up and work good in the shop but you have to stop and lace them up and untie them when you leave the house or come inside, now I have a boot I can slip on to go feed, run to the mail box, move a tractor or whatever comes up. They are as well made as any of my high end cowboy boots, that pinch my toes and hurt my back. I ordered the size I usually wear, but they were just a hair short and I knew I would have an issue so I started a return for exchange in size. Easiest return process ever. Was informed of the process as we moved through it. I recommend the Decatur and will be ordering another pair as soon as they are available! Thanks Erik for the updates!
