BREAK-IN NOTE

The Bailey fits somewhat snug out of the box. That's the bison leather doing its job — it's dense, it's real, and it molds. Wear them through the first several days and the leather will shape to your foot and become the most comfortable boot you've ever owned. The snug fit isn't a flaw. It's proof of what you bought.

Description

The boot industry has spent decades cutting corners — synthetic linings, glued soles, leather that looks right but won't last a year of hard use. The Bailey was built as the answer to all of that.

American bison leather upper. 360° stitchdown construction. An American-made outsole built for real surfaces. A wide anatomical toe box that lets your foot function the way it was designed to.

Versatile enough for the job site, weekend chores, or everyday wear. Tough enough to outlast everything else in your rotation. Nothing fake. Nothing narrow. Nothing that quits before you do.

Construction Details

American bison leather upper — Heavyweight and characterful. Bison leather is denser and more durable than standard cow leather, with a natural texture that gets better with age. Each hide is slightly different — the boot you get is yours alone.

360° stitchdown construction — The upper forms the welt and is stitched all the way around. Most boots are glued together. This one isn't. Built to last decades and be resoled when the time comes.

Full gusseted tongue — Keeps debris, water, and dust out. The kind of detail that matters when you're actually wearing these boots hard.

Vegetable-tanned leather counter — Real leather that molds to your heel. No plastic like most boots.

Vegetable-tanned leather midsole — Natural and durable. Won't crack over time like synthetics.

American-made outsole — Deep lug pattern built for concrete, gravel, mud, wet grass, and shop floors. Slip resistant, oil resistant, non-marking.

Handcrafted in León, Mexico in small batches.

Sizing

True to size in length. Wide anatomical toe box with a snug fit through the midfoot and heel — your foot stays secure while your toes lay naturally.

Color and Texture

Bison leather is a natural material. No two hides are identical — texture, grain, and color will vary from boot to boot. What you're seeing in the photos is one expression of the leather. What you receive may be heavier in texture, more mild, slightly lighter or darker in tone.

That's not a flaw. That's what real leather looks like. Your boots will be yours.

Bailey boot FAQs

No. Within the world of footwear, the designation of 'waterproof' carries certain testing requirements that we have not obtained. However, due to the construction and materials of our Bailey Boot, our real-world wear testing has shown these to handle water very well. The leather is rich in oils and finished with waxes, which provides a difficult surface for water to penetrate.

The total thickness of the sole, referred to sometimes as 'stack height,' is about 23mm. That includes the thickness of the insole.

Yes. The sole thickness is constant from heel to toe and that includes the insole.

Yes!

Yes! The 360 stitchdown construction makes for a boot that is resoleable.

Yes. These boots have a cushioned insole and also get some cushion from the blown polyurethane outsole.

No. Our insole and footbed are flat.

Our Bailey Boot is wide, but not crazy wide. It will be wide enough for most people to allow for their toes to lay in a natural position.

Compared to barefoot and minimalist shoes that feature a wide toe box, the Bailey is wider than most, but not the widest.

Compared to US standard widths, our toe box leans toward a 3E in width. The heel is a D width.
